The look of memories of the past?
Nestled among the Texas Live Oak trees.
Cleaning up the fresh shrimp at $8/pd for future enjoyment.  No, they didn't freeze it all!!!!
The purchase.  Two pounds per bowl.

Chisos Basin in Big Bend Natl Park.  Finally, some green.
Beautiful rock formations.  Temp is 78 because of altitude.
Rio Grande Village Hot Springs area.  That is a Mexican crossing the Rio Grande River after collecting the money left my Americans who purchased his hand crafted pieces of art.
We walked 1.4 miles to the hot springs via the mountain trail.
This is the Hot Springs.  It is of course quite warm.  After we left there were a couple of gals on the way to soak.  It was so hot here.  I really got a sunburn on my arms.  When we left the temp in the truck read 99 and before we got out of the canyon it read 101.  Did I mention it was HOT here!!!
Our first desert ride on the quads.  It was so different than Quartzsite.
We rode up one wash to the dam the earlier cattlemen made.
The locals call it 'Top of the World'.  It is the highest point accessible by quads.
On 'top of the world' looking out over the valley below.  In the far distance is the Chisos Mt range separating Mx from the US.
Another pic from 'Top of the World'.
This is the shower facility in Terlingua.  Come on down, there is room for one more.
Here is what is left of the original town of Terlingua.
The original Mayor's residence, before the roof caved in.  Yes, the lower level is occupied.
More of the abandoned original houses.  They are all over the landscape.
                The story of Terlingua.
Looking toward Santa Elena, the left side is Mexico, the right side is the USA. Closer pics below.
                     duh!
At the top of the walk along the US side of the canyon wall. The people on the wash are on the US side.
Looking at the steps that lead to the previous pic.
An up close view of the Canyon.  Mx on the left.
